Cartoon of the Week: Instagram is down and users cannot log in

Instagram, the photo-sharing platform, stopped working Wednesday, leaving users unable to access their favorite app. While trying to log in, users were greeted with empty profiles and a message saying, ‘Cannot refresh feed’.

Google search data showed a spike in searches for Instagram around 8 am and 9 am UK time, which was when the downtime occurred.

Users panicked, and some even admitted that they deleted the app in hopes that it would start working again. Others said they turned off their wifi and turned it back on or even restarted their phones, only to visit Twitter and see that Instagram was actually down.

An Instagram spokesperson told Newsweek via email: ‘We’re aware that some users are having trouble accessing Instagram. We’re working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.’

I wish I could have seen the reactions from the Instagram influencers and models, many of whom make a living from the app, during the downtime.
