Tesla’s co-founder and CEO, Elon Musk, has overtaken Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to become the world’s fourth-richest person.
Shares of Tesla surged by nearly 10% as of 2:25 pm EST on wednesday, pushing Musk’s net worth up to $105.4 billion, surpassing Zuckerberg, who has a net worth of $100.6 billion.
This advancement is mainly due to Tesla’s astonishing growth after the announcement of its addition to the S&P 500 index. The electric-vehicle company’s stock is up more than 460% in 2020. As for SpaceX, it was valued at $46 billion by investors in August.
Musk is within striking distance of becoming the world’s third-richest person, as he’s less than $15 billion behind Bill Gates.
What would it take for Musk to gain that title?
