Thinking that our movements can be tracked with a machine has to bring a little discomfort.<\/p>\n<p>But if you\u2019re Australian, you had better start getting used to it, as Sydney airport is on its way to replacing passport check-ins with <strong>face scans<\/strong>, in partnership with <strong>Qantas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The plan is already being trialed by <strong>Qantas<\/strong> in order to replace the \u201cinconvenience\u201d of relying on paper passports.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sydney airport<\/strong> is testing this new program on this week\u2019s passengers. The passengers will have the chance to pass through check-in, baggage drop, lounge access and boarding using just their faces.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sydney airport<\/strong> CEO Geoff Culbert said, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2018\/07\/05\/your-face-will-be-your-passport-qantas-passengers-start-using-biome.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in a statement<\/a> provided to the press, \u201cIn the future, there will be no more juggling passports and bags at check-in and digging through pockets or smartphones to show your boarding pass.\u201d He added, \u201cYour face will be your passport and your boarding pass at every step of the process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We can\u2019t assume that the technology will be infallible from day 1.
